I considered deleting all the posts from last year's blog but decided to leave them, just as examples of subjects that can be raised and as a way to get started. You may even find an interesting or informative post here and there.
I can't add you all as contributors, wish I could. To permit everyone to post I'll add a weekly "Comments and Questions" post, to which you can add a comment visible to all.
Please consider this blog yours, not yet another medium through which a prof pronounces and to which students respond. Feel free to comment on anything, respond to one another's comments, and carry out conversations among yourselves. In an ideal world I'd recede into the background as the term goes on.
